Songs my sister likes
The personal and professional website of Rami Toubia Stucky, Lecturer in Music at Washington University, St. Louis. Scholar of the music of the African diaspora, music of the Americas, commercial culture, intercultural exchange, and music and migration. Also composes/arranges jazz music and plays drums. Currently writing a book on the arrival of Brazilian bossa nova to the United States during the 1960s. This website contains C.V., examples of published and unpublished research, recordings and scores of original music, course syllabi and evaluations, transcriptions primarily of jazz and hip hop, my reading list and notes pertaining to American consumer culture, and examples of my conference presentations. Most of the songs researched, discussed, and composed are songs my sister likes.
